FULHAM - GOING PRO

Whilst in Canada I was approached by Fulham - who under the leadership of Mohammed al-Fayed, the Harrod's boss, were about to become Britain's first professional women's team.

I had doubts over whether it was sensible to leave a premiership club for a third division side - after all it was a huge difference in standard.

But after about a month of thinking and talking it over with some good friends like Pam Bedzrah and Kirsty Pealling I decided to sign. I felt in the end that I would benefit as a player from training every day.

It turns out I was the first player to put my name on the dotted line so becoming Britain's first ever professional footballer!

It was a great honour to know that I was the player Fulham wanted to lead the attack. In 3 great seasons of being pro we managed to raise the standard of how we all played and trained....
